happy?

Hey You,

tell me what makes you happy.
Tell me if it’s something as simple and natural as the soothing sounds of waves on the sea. The seductive if not hypnotic moment in twilight when the sun dips below the horizon setting the sky in soft yet hellish blaze.
Are you one who enjoys the company of animals? Finding mirth and contentment in their quirky little antics. Perhaps your vice for happiness comes from your very own loins, a child or two playing and laughing or a quick rub in the right place. It’s quite possible that you’re in high spirits when you accomplish a goal like the diligent mountain climber who battles it out against gravity and the elements to feast his eyes on the spellbinding view that the summit offers her or him. Or to a lesser extent like a novelist who writes an endless amount of spend thrift pages finishing their long awaited manuscript. It has crossed my mind that I might be digging too deep, you may purely feel happiness after the consumption of narcotics and alcohol or after firing you prized automatic weapon.
Quothe Kurt Cobain, “Load up on guns and bring your friends.”
Again I ask, what makes you happy? Do you even know? And would you be able to describe what happiness is?
Here’s a fact of our modern day society: thanks to Ethan Hawk’s role in Reality Bites, a greater number of people can now define the word irony with out fail where as before they’d only be able to say that they’d know it if they saw it. Unfortunately and to my knowledge Mr Hawk hasn’t defined for us the term happiness leaving us in the dark. Most of us will experience moments of this feeling but we still haven’t the foggiest notion of what it is or how to obtain at regular intervals unless we see it printed on a prescription pad as Prozac. Therefore, lets investigate the matter. I have found that Happiness is an album released on 24th September 2001 by Fridge and it’s also a dark comedy written and directed by Todd Solondz and released in 1998. But cutting to the chase I found that it’s defined by Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia, as a long-lasting or enduring emotional or sentimental state that feels good or gratifying. Overlapping states or experiences related to it include comfort, joy, sexual pleasure, glee, health, security and love, while contrasting ones are comprised of suffering, sorrow, misery and pain. Still I prefers Don Marquis’ simple but sweet definition which is, ”Happiness is the interval between periods of unhappiness.”
Now that we know what it is could you tell me if you have it and how you get it?
