I do not claim to be a master of Zen doctrines, nor do I profess to have any understanding of such teachings nor philosophies. I know that if a tree falls in the woods, regardless of who’s around or not, it makes noise. In fact the bigger the tree the bigger the noise; the sudden and rapid displacement or space between objects coming into contact causes sound. So, what is the sound of one hand clapping? Taking into consideration that space is being displaced around an object. What I would like to know is why anyone would have to ask such a question seeing that the answer is so clear; it is the same sound a thought makes.
